Speaker confirmed - Graeme Obree

Wednesday 13 February, 10:02am

Back by popular demand for the third year running, The Flying Scotsman will again be taking part in the show theatre.

Chatting candidly about his eventful career where he twice broke the prestigious world hour record (1993 and 1994) and became World Champion for the 4Km pursuit in 1993 and 1995, he will be talking about the highs, the lows and his innovative style of riding that made him a house hold name. He'll also be bringing along his infamous 'Beastie' bike for you to check out first hand.

Stay tuned for confirmed times and further theatre guest announcements!

Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show Set to Return to the SEC for Another Action Packed Weekend

Thursday 31 January, 8:13am

The SSE Hydro turned yellow this month to celebrate the launch of this year’s Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show, which returns to Glasgow on 2-3 March after a forced cancellation caused by last year’s dreaded ‘Beast from the East’.

With over 20 fun and interactive challenges to suit all abilities plus opportunities to shop some of the biggest brands in outdoor sports, this year’s hotly anticipated show promises to be an action-packed weekend for sports enthusiasts and families alike.

Brand new for 2019, this year’s show will boast a ‘Gladiator’-style Travelator, Tacx Turbo Challenge, an enormous 60m indoor zip line plus an improved Triathalon Challenge. Visitors can also enjoy indoor Cycling and Running Tracks, an eMountain Bike Track, Kids’ Action Zone, Climbing Wall and indoor Segway track; with visitors able to compete in a wide range of trials and challenges for the chance to win fantastic prizes - including a place at the 2019 Berlin Marathon.

Julia Girvan, from show organisers PSP Media Group, adds:

“We were just as disappointed with last year’s unfortunate cancellation as our customers were, but we’ve spent the last 12 months making sure that our 2019 show comes back bigger and better than ever before.   We’ve got a great mix of new and interactive features plus more big brands than ever before – it’s shaping up to be our best show yet!”

With celebrity guests featuring on the Show Theatre and top brands like Decathalon, Cannondale, Ribble, Hoka, Bianchi, On Running and Kinesis in attendance, visitors can get advice and inspiration from the true professionals.   What’s more, there’s free bike storage, tickets starting from just £12 and kids under 10 go free. This really is the perfect day out for all the family.
