We are excited to announce that Douglas Shaw from Edinburgh Bike Fitting will be speaking at the theatre for 2017!

Douglas will be bringing along the Müve SL Dynamic Fit Bike, which could revolutionise the way you determine which bike is right for you! Find out the ideal bike size and setup, prior to a new bike purchase! The bike can create road, mountain, TT and tri positions, covering whatever cycling challenge you have ahead! Make sure to catch Douglas at the show this March and find out about different services that Edinburgh Bike Fitting has to offer to better your cycling performance!

Glasgow City Council will be offering free Doctor Bike clinics!

Tuesday 28 February, 6:00pm

We are excited to announce that Glasgow City Council will be offering free Bike Doctor clinics at the show with free check-ups and basic repairs to your cycle!

The Doctor Bike sessions will be made up of a team of experienced bike mechanics from Soul Riders, checking everything on your bike from wheels and gears, to brakes and lights! Get any minor adjustments or basic repairs made there and then at the show. If they can't fix it immediately, they will let you know exactly what needs doing and a rough cost.  The Bike Doctor clinics will be taking place from 10am until 5pm every day at the show!

Here are some useful tips to help keep your bike in good working order:

• Make sure the size is correct for comfort and safety

• Keep both tyres inflated properly and have good tread

• Ensure the chain is oiled and properly adjusted

• Check your brakes work and the brake pads aren't worn

• Double check reflectors and lights are fitted and working

Calling all runners, we have a ton of amazing opportunities waiting for you at this year's show! We've put together the 6 top reasons why you should attend the show this March, helping you improve your performance for the coming season!

1) Win a place at the New York Marathon Challenge for 2017!

Come along and try our new mystery marathon challenge and enter to win a slot at this year's New York Marathon. It’s very simple; all you have to do is run a mile on one of our treadmills on our marathon challenge feature and match the mystery time that we have selected! Get your running shoes at the ready, you never know you could be hitting the States this summer!

2) Listen to a host of professional running athletes at our theatre!

We have a whole host of amazing athletes speaking at this year's show! From marathon runners Callum Hawkins, Derek Hawkins and Eilish McColgan to ultra-marathon runner Elspeth Luke and Chai Running instructor Nick Constantine! They will be speaking about running technique, training, motivation and breaking into the sport.

3) Give our amazing running track a go!

Looking for a fresh challenge for 2017? Why not give our indoor running track a go and put your sprinting techniques to the test, where you will have the opportunity to use professional starting blocks at the show! The Shettleston Harriers will be on hand to show you how to use them, and better your running technique. There will be serious bio-metric testing available from Hampden Sports Clinic giving you a great look at your overall health and well being. You can also take part in races throughout the day!

4) Improve your fitness in our Active Zone!

Try our Active Zone sponsored by David Lloyd Leisure Club, North Lanarkshire Leisure and Sweat! Union offering a variety of free 15 minute fitness classes throughout the day, which you can book in advance online, or simply turn up on the day and have a go. There is a running schedule of different instructors and classes on offer throughout the day, so you can choose an exercise schedule that works for you. Let's make 2017 your most active year yet!

5) Browse the latest running gear from industry leading brands! 

We have a host of top industry running brands to browse at this year's show from Ron Hill to Newton Running, On Running and Decathlon to name but a few! See first hand the latest running technology and apparel to help improve your performance, comfort and efficiency for the season ahead!

6) Get the chance to sign up to a number of great marathons this season!

We have a whole host of marathons coming to the show giving you the opportunity to find out more and sign up for your next challenge! From the Scottish Half Marathon, Mens 10K, Great Scottish Run and the Great Scottish Walk and Run Festival to name but a few! Fancy a challenge for 2017? We have our very own climbing wall at the show sponsored by VisitArran to give you a sense of climbing in the great outdoors!

There is something to suit both beginners and more proficient climbers. So make sure to give it a try at the show, and find the adventurer in you!

You can choose to either start with the very basics or try a more challenging climb of up to 9 meters! Whichever you decide you will be supported by one of our experienced instructors who will provide advice, support, and encouragement. Anyone can have fun climbing even people who are afraid of heights!

There is something to suit both beginners and more proficient climbers. So make sure to give it a try at the show, and challenge yourself for 2017!

2) Listen to top cycling athletes in our sports theatre, sponsored by Cycling Weekly, and find out the latest news in the world of cycling from top professionals within the industry such as Graham Obree, Charline Joiner, Liam Moynihan, Lachlan Blair, Markus Stitz and Edinburgh Bike Fitting to name but a few! Each speaker will give you great insight into breaking into the sport, bettering your technique, whilst finding out their personal journey.

3) Browse some of the biggest cycling brands with the likes of Canyon, Merida, Pinarello, Alpine Bikes, Bianchi , Santa Cruz and Trek coming to the show! Get the chance to see first hand some of the best bikes in the industry and chat to the team and even try some of the latest bikes on our cycling and e-Mountain bike tracks!

4) Book a free spinning session with Boiler Room Fitness, great for anyone with a weight loss goal, or for those wanting to quickly build up to and maintain a good level of fitness. 5) Watch a real life cycling World record being broken! Ultra Marathon Cyclist Katie Ford will be aiming to break the Guinness World Book of Records greatest simulated distance on a static cycle in 12 hours on Friday 10th March, starting at 4am and finishing at 4pm! You can all be there to cheer her on for her grand finish at 4pm! Go Katie!

We are pleased to announce that Boiler Room Fitness will be featuring at the show with a series of Spinning classes that you can book in advance for free!

Spinning is great for anyone with a weight loss goal, or for those wanting to quickly build up to and maintain a good level of fitness. If you’re after a great whole body workout, then spinning is for you! You can also turn up on the day and have a go, with sessions happening throughout the day.

Each session will give you a 15 minute taster so you can get a real feel for what spinning is all about and whether this is something you want to incorporate into your training routine for that upcoming challenge, or as something to simply keep you fit and healthy. Spinning is for all sorts of levels, so we encourage you to give it a go and kick start your 2017 on the right pedal!

Catch Eilish McColgan speaking at our theatre for 2017!

We are excited to announce that Eilish McColgan will be speaking at our theatre for 2017! Representing Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, we can't wait to hear her thoughts on getting into the world of running and the many challenges you can face!

Eilish will also be taking part in a Q and A on the running track for all young, budding athletes at the show!
