Try our amazing triathlon challenge for 2017!

A triathlon is undoubtedly one of the hardest endurance tests you can put your body through. So to put you to the test at the show we have our very own Triathlon Challenge! You can take the plunge in our professional hydro plunge pool sponsored by Hot Tub Solutions, as well as cycle and run on our sports equipment.

Each day we will be holding a competition to win some great prizes for the best time! Wet suits will be provided for the hydro pool challenge but you will need to bring your own sports shoes to cycle and run.

If you haven’t experienced the joys of the Segway you are in for a treat! We have a fun filled Segway course, sponsored by Scotland’s cable wakeboarding park Foxlake Adventures and East Lothian where you can test your skills and balance to the maximum!

Segway is a great family activity and something that all generations can enjoy together. Segways are self-balancing and gentle. We hope you enjoy your Segway experience at the show!

Marathon Cyclist Katie Ford aims to break a record this March!

We are excited to announce that Ultra Marathon Cyclist Katie Ford will be aiming to break a Guinness World Record at the show!

Katie is looking to break the record for the greatest simulated distance on a static cycle in 12 hours (female) on Friday 10th March! The farthest distance static cycling in 12 hours by a female is 348 km (216.24 miles) was achieved by Tina Ternjak (Slovenia) at the Sports Hall Lukna in Maribor, Slovenia, on 12 May 2012.

Katie has completed some impressive challenges such as racing 3000 miles across America in just 9 days, becoming the youngest British female to ever complete the race! Katie is also a rider for Epilepsy Forward, increasing awareness and working on an epilepsy focused Ultra-endurance cycling project. You can find out more info here: http://epilepsyforward.com/

We have amazing opportunities for younger cyclists at the this year, including our Mountain Bike Trail Track sponsored by Scottish Cycling!

For those younger cyclists who want to improve their off road skills, our mountain bike track is the perfect place! Both beginners and intermediates under 16 can test out their mountain biking techniques, giving a taste of off road cycling on our specially designed, elevated wooden track. The track offers a dry, convenient setting where you can practice bike skills and have fun! The track is for everyone of all levels. So whether you are new to cycling or have ridden bicycles and want to develop your off-road cycle skills then this is the track for you! Come along and get your cycle on at this year’s show!

New to this year’s show we are excited to announce our very own Indoor e-Mountain Bike Track, sponsored by Bosch with purpose built trail for you to seek out your biking thrills and test your biking skills to the maximum!

The trail will be for anyone who wants to give mountain biking a try from the beginner to the professional and for those who are used to road cycling but want to develop their off-road cycle skills. We want to give you a taste of mountain biking with our high quality trail, so you can practice your wheel lifts and subtle weight shifts on uneven terrain and improve your confidence and agility.

Find out how Katie Ford's training is going for the show this March....

We find out from Katie about how her training is going for breaking the Guinness World Record at the show....

We are excited to announce that Ultra Marathon Cyclist Katie Ford will be aiming to break the Guinness World Book of Records greatest simulated distance on a static cycle in 12 hours on Friday 11th March, starting at 4am and finishing at 4pm! We find out from Katie about how her training is going for the show....

"Along with 150 squats, 10 minutes of planking and 100 heel raises every morning, which I've been doing for the last 4 months every day, my training is split between time on my turbo trainer at home, always at least 6 hours a day minimum up to as much as 10 hour stints, except my rest days, I supplement the turbo training at home with Spin classes, where I can work or building the strength in my legs and calves to ride at a higher gear for long periods.

Over the next 3 weeks I will be attending Sweat! Union gym for record specific training on their Wattbike, for prolonged periods, simulating as much of the WR attempt as possible, as well as visiting The Human Performance Unit at Essex University on the 2nd of March, a week before the event, to finesse my riding position and my nutritional intake, as well as being put through the ringer with all their Lactate Threshold and VO2 Max testing at the speeds required for breaking the world record. All in all everything is on track for hopefully a great performance this March!"
